WORDSWORTH, William
- Era: 1770 - 1850
- Location: ENGLAND
- Categories: LITERATURE
William Wordsworth is renowned for his poetry which reflects the revolutionary times in which he was born, including his travel to France. Much of his life was spent in the English Lake District and his writings reflect his interactions there with the natural environment, family and fellow poets, especially Coleridge. In some of his early writings the concern for social justice is strong, but more generally for him moral sense is suffused with wonderment with the ordinary beauties and tragedies as experienced directly in daily life. The imagination is for him the central vehicle for moral education.
