John Wilson was an Oxford based moral philosopher with special interest in Moral Education. As a school teacher he taught classics, history and philosophy. He developed the distinctive model of ‘Farmington Man’ which identifies the complementary components which are key to the process of becoming morally educated – knowledge, empathy, caring and judgement. He was one of the pioneers of the Journal of Moral Education and a regular contributor of articles. His annual output of books was remarkable.
