TAGORE, Rabindranath

Rabindranath was Debendranath’s youngest son. Initially he associated himself with the religious interests of the Brahmo Samaj, but subsequently concentrated on his own writing, especially poetry. Politically he was critical of British rule, but he campaigned even more vigorously in the cause of internationalism. Gandhi held him in high regard.
