His stance was increasingly revolutionary in its challenge to institutional authorities in a succession of different towns across Germany. Styling himself a ‘new Daniel’, empowered by the Holy Spirit he was a champion of the Peasants’ Revolt.as a Christian cause. Following its defeat, he was executed.
