Exponent of an approach to Moral Education which is rooted in inter-personal sensitivity and communication, and linking with health and social education. He drew directly on a research background in the Oxford University Department of Psychology and led curriculum development projects for the government funded Schools Council in the 1970s. The Secondary age range project – Lifeline - was based in Oxford and produced a series of materials for classroom use and whole school management. The Primary age range project – Startline – was bases in Cambridge. The materials generated were deliberately designed to promote active learning. They included role play, resources for ‘photoplay’ and magnetic-board figure-play.
