GADAMER, H G

Long-lived both physically and in continuing intellectual impact as philosopher of human understanding. Putting ourselves into words, even in casual conversation, is fundamental to knowing for ourselves who we are - as much as it is for sharing this with others. 'Hermeneutics' and the skilful interpretation of language are prerequisites for morality.
