Creator with Karl Marx of ‘scientific socialism’, including the writing of the Communist Manifesto. Personal financial security generated from continual industrial employment by his father in Germany or England. Evidently shaken by initial exposure to condition of working poor in Manchester. Radical concerns included those of female inequality, limits of ownership rights, and the significance of work for human identity.
