Best known for his focus on the importance of strong leaders in a nation's self-understanding and confidence which he exemplified with reference to the likes of Frederick the Great, Muhammad, Oliver Cromwell, French revolutionaries and Norwegian Kings. Self-critical religious beliefs and human values are presented as key for national and international education.
